28th July 2023, Caritas Nigeria through the support of CAFOD and Catholic Relief Services, unveiled the 2023 General Observation Report at the Country office in Abuja.
The event presented findings and insights during the 2023 general elections. In a welcome address by the Executive Secretary of Caritas Nigeria, Uchechukwu Fr Obodoechina emphasized the significant role that the Church plays in promoting good governance within the country. The efforts of the church in advocating for transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership were recognized as essential elements in fostering a conducive environment for responsible governance.
The event was graced by various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) such as The Women’s Rights and Peace Protection Initiative for Africa (WRPPIA), The Albino Foundation (TAF) Global People’s Right Foundation, and Youth Voice. A reflection on the collaborative approach adopted during the 2023 General Elections was observed and presented.
