PORTABLE DIGITAL X-RAY DATA CLERK

Project Background:

Caritas Nigeria is implementing the Nigeria TB-HIV Reach, Integration and Impact Project (N-THRIP) GC7 project as a sub recipient to Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) the principal recipient in five states; Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi, Imo and Bayelsa

The GC7 project is focused on ensuring early diagnosis of TB and HIV and providing comprehensive care for affected individuals. The grant will increase the provision of tuberculosis services in the community and through public-private partnership. Other objectives of the grant include expanding HIV testing for all pregnant women in communities and strengthening laboratories and supply chain management

Job Summary.

As part of the collective efforts to enhance the coverage and quality of TB and HIV service delivery across Nigeria, the NTBLCP has deployed Portable Digital X-ray (PDX) systems nationwide. These systems are designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our community-based TB/HIV interventions

Community TB outreaches conducted by Community Tuberculosis and HIV Workers (CTHWs) must be accompanied by the PDX system for TB screening. Selection of communities for outreaches must be based on hotspot mapping using EPCON. These hotspot maps should be shared with the Principal Recipient (PR) monthly. The Portable Digital X-Ray Data Clerk will join in all the community outreaches where he/she will work with the other outreach team members to arrange the seating/waiting area, give health talks/explain the procedure, screen prospective x-ray clients for TB using WHO symptom screening, enter clients’ information into the AI platform, provide AI report feedback to the client, and generate daily comprehensive report of the PDX. The Portable Digital X-Ray Data Clerk will follow – up and update molecular test on the AI platform.

Key Areas of Accountability

The Portable Digital X-Ray Data Clerk will provide effective support in the following regards;

  • Hot spot mapping guided by EPCON
  • Community outreaches activities
  • See to the arrangement of seating/waiting areas during outreaches
  • Give health talks and explain x-ray procedures to intending clients.
  • Screen prospective x-ray clients for TB using WHO symptom screening
  • Entering of clients’ information into the AI platform
  • Provide AI report feedback to the clients
  • Generate daily comprehensive report of the PDX.
  • Follow – up and update molecular test on the AI platform.

Qualification and Experience:

  • A minimum of OND or its equivalent.
  • Basic Computer knowledge with strengths in MS Words, Excel, and Power Point
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems and NGOs is highly desirable.
  • Experience in community work is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of donor environment, donor relations and donor reporting systems
  • Excellent analytical, writing and verbal communication skills

Additional Advantage.

  • Ability to work both in a team and independently and ability to transfer knowledge through formal and informal training;
  • Experience working with CBOs and governments at different levels will be helpful.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of Statistical packages is an added advantage.

  • Ability to spend long hours looking at computer screen and doing repetitive work on a keyboard.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 5-50 lbs.
