Project Background

Building Sustainable Livelihoods for Vibrant Communities” (B-SLiC) Program, is a 2 year Livelihoods Program, targeting 20,000 direct beneficiaries in 4,000 households. In Ekiti and Lagos States. The program aims to build capacity and empower women, men and youths in climate smart agricultural production, vocational skills acquisition and facilitate increased access to markets and financial inclusion. The direct beneficiaries would not only have improved household incomes which would enable them to better carter for their household members, but would become self-employed and employers of labour, thereby creating more jobs within the communities.

Summary of Role

Provide support in the implementation of income-generating and household economic strengthening activities of the program across targeted communities and facilitate their linkages for financial inclusion and access to markets

Responsibilities

  • Collate information and data on economic strengthening activities at community level through surveys, assessments, regular post distribution monitoring and field supervision visits of beneficiary households
  • Facilitate community mobilization towards economic activities.
  • She will be responsible organizational HES with focus on income generating activity, saving groups, asset accumulation and value chain development
  • The HES will support planning, trainings learning/documentation, reporting and monitoring of household economic strengthening activities
  • Facilitates the use of approved HES assessment tools
  • Mainstream HES activities across projects
  • Establish in all-inclusive routine follow up for all supported households to ensure greater project outcomes routine
  • Received directive from the HES officer to ensure adherence to all plan activities towards achieving the strategic objectives of the project in line with caritas Nigeria policies and standard of quality.
  • Proper documentation of weekly and activity reports
  • Any other tasks assigned by the by the HES Officer, CSA Specialist and Program Manager

Desired Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration, International Development, social work, Gender, or related field of qualification.
  • Experience working with NGOs 3 -4 years consistent experience in HES
  • Excellent communication, team building and training skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in and outside the organization
  • Strong English language oral and written communication skills required
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Internet) required.
  • Ability to communicate in the local language of the project locations
