Project Overview

Caritas is implementing the ProFuturo Programme in Cameroonian Refugee Operation in Cross River State. This is a digital education response, the ProFuturo Digital Education Framework is covering 3 schools in the 3 refugee settlements – Adagom 1, Adagom 2, Ukende settlements to expand connected education programmes across refugee communities. The goal of this partnership is to strengthen the quality of primary education serving refugees, improve teacher ability to manage classrooms and teach using digital tools and online platforms, encourage student participation and generate enthusiasm for learning, and improve student enrolment and retention. The programme will strengthen existing educational programmes, empower teachers to effectively use technology in their classrooms, and expand access to quality education for refugee and local children in Nigeria.

Objective of the position:
The Education Field Coordinator is responsible for the management of the coaches, supervision and submission of the operational reports, the elaboration of the planning, and the correct execution of the deployment model.

Responsibilities of the Education Field Coordinator:

  • Prepare, review and approve high-quality, written project status reports, updates, summaries, and other documents.
  • Management of the coaches.
  • Ensure that the Implementation of ProFuturo’s Solution is based on the local contexts requirements.
  • Conduct regular status meetings with ProFuturo’s coaches, keeping the project’s status, needs and requirements continuously in view.
  • Report project progress, status and recommend corrective action when necessary.
  • Facilitate working sessions with the coaches so they can share best practices.
  • Document best practices.
  • Pro-actively identifies challenges, barriers, and areas of opportunity in the department; creates and implements solutions.
  • Develop strategic plans and objectives that ensure the program’s continued success, and develops evaluation methods to assess outcomes.
  • Maintain complete and accurate project records.
  • Follow-up on all the coaches’ work. The frequency will be defined by the project plan with each partner.
  • Provide administrative oversight of human resource management.
  • Support the development of the coaches.
  • Ensure performance reviews are carried out by the coaches.

Academic Background:

Degree in Education Administration/ Management / Business Education or NCE plus Degree in Business Administration or Degree in Business administration plus Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) or HND Business Administration plus Postgraduate Diploma in Education. Master’s Degree in Education Administration/Management will be an added advantage.                           

Requirements:
Essentials:

  • Degree in Education Administration/Management/ Business Education or NCE plus Degree in Business Administration or Degree in Business Administration plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Education or HND Business Administration plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
  • 5 years’ experience in school administration or education projects, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Educational background with previous knowledge in Nigerian educational system and curriculum.
  • Have previous experience on how a school functions.
  • Understand adult learning based on previous experience is desirable. Training experience to other audiences will also be considered. 
  • Know-how of the local environment and context. 
  • Proficiency in the local language and a very good working knowledge of at least one (1) of the ProFuturo languages (EN, ES, PT, FR) is essential. 
  • ICT knowledge- User level:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
  • Basic excel user (xls.)

Desirable:

  • Experience in education administration/management or education project management.
  • Pedagogical training with the understanding of the school system.
  • Coordination of work teams in the education field.
