Caritas is U-report partner

Caritas Nigeria is among partners for the U-report initiative of United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
U-report is a free sms based platform that empowers citizens to speak up on issues that concern them. By this new partnership, experts from Caritas Nigeria will be involved in responding to questions from members of the society on specific topics namely HIV/AIDS, reproductive health and gender-related issues.

Participation in the program is open to all members of the society and is simply by texting JOIN to 24453 (FREE) to become a U-reporter. More information is available on the u-report website, or following on twitter (@UreportNigeria) and Facebook ( U-report Nigeria).

WASH intervention in Yobe State

The UNICEF Project Cooperative Agreeement (PCA) 1 and 2 has carried out major interventionsaw in Yobe state.
This includes the distribution of 500 WaSH hygiene kits to 500 households, the construction of 50 VIP Latrines as well as rehabilitation and repairs of 22 dysfunctional water points across 6 LGAs of Yobe State comprising: Damaturu LGA: (Ngabuwara, MCH Gwange, Kukareta-Kimeri, MCH Nayinawa and Maisandari); Tarmuwa LGA: at MCH Babangida; Fune LGA: at Damagun; Potiskum LGA: (MCH Bolewa “A”, MCH Dogon Zare, Anguwan Jaji, Jumma’a, Barracks and Yerimaram); Fika LGA: (MCH Gadaka, Gadaka comm., Sabongari, Pukumari, Bogaru and Kokori); Bade LGA: (Sarkin Hausawa A, Sarkin Hausawa B and Katuzu all in Gashua).
