To reduce poverty among households in Nigeria
Implementation Strategy
A multi-sectoral approach with each recipient focusing on specific strategic component of the project. Caritas Nigeria’s contribution was on Household income generation and program management while other IPs focused on other aspects or core components

Achievements
– 54,787 Households were reached
– 160% increased yield of focus crops
– Increased Household income through SILC and improved access to financing
– Improved household nutritional status
– formation of 975 SILC groups that benefited 18,308 beneficiaries
– Collective saving of ($328,435) and loaning of ($358,830) by SILC groups
–Opening of savings accounts by 6,626 beneficiaries
–Saving of $3,681 social funds (money meant for emergency purposes like treatment of illness, floods, payment of children school fees and disasters)

Caritas Nigeria demonstrated expertise to increase household income through Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC), a savings system that encourage savings and boosts investment for beneficiaries in communities
FTFP was a consortium of 5 IPs working in six states with CRS as main recipient and lasting 5 years
