To improve psychosocial and health outcomes among the target population, we recently worked with the JDPC Orlu and other community-based organisations to implement the Orphans and Vulnerable Children's (OVC) program. Five vulnerable children (a female and 4 males) were empowered with hairdressing, electrical engineering, aluminum window production, and barbing skills. With their capacities built in these skill areas, the children were further given the relevant start-up tools to support their journey to self-reliance and stability.
Handing over the kits to the young entrepreneurs on November 17, the Bishop of Orlu Diocese, Most Rev. Augustine Ukwuoma gave his blessings and urged them to remain focused, hardworking, resilient, and positive-minded. The Director of JDPC Orlu, Fr. Remigius Udeze also offered words of encouragement to the beneficiaries and their caregivers.
