Capacity-building for Implementing Facilities in Abia State

A workshop is organised today, 16th November 2022 at the Abia state office where about 81 Ad hoc staff across the implementing Facilities and local government areas (LGAs) are in attendance.

The capacity-building session aims to improve recency surveillance knowledge in HIV testing procedures and initiation of effective antiretroviral therapy (ART) in HIV service delivery facilities located in the state.

Antiretroviral therapy (ART) is to prevent HIV-associated morbidity and mortality. To enable people living with HIV (PLHIV) and their sexual partners to fully benefit from early diagnosis and treatment, clinicians at the Recency Surveillance training are encouraged to initiate timely ART and provide support to enhance retention in care and ART adherence.
