The Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (CCFN); also known as Caritas Nigeria is the specialised agency of the Catholic Church in Nigeria for coordinating development and Humanitarian interventions. Since its establishment in 2010 by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), Caritas Nigeria has reached millions of  beneficiaries  and communities across the length and breadth of Nigeria. Caritas Nigeria is a member of Caritas Internationalis, a global confederation of 166 member nations that shares in the common vision of being the outreach of the Church to those in need.


2022 Annual General Meeting of the JDPC Directors and Coordinators with Caritas Nigeria

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Justice, Development, Peace and Commission (JDPC) had three days of activities from 26th-28th October 2022 at the Catholic Secretariate of Nigeria (CSN) Durumi, Abuja.  The meeting is set to create synergy between Caritas Nigeria, the JDPC Directors, and Coordinators from the 9 Catholic Provinces which consist of the 57 Catholic dioceses in Nigeria.

The three-day meeting shed a light, particularly on plans for observation of the forthcoming 2023 general elections, institutional capacity strengthening programs, and effective channels for improved collaboration between Caritas Nigeria and the JDPC.

Other activities featured in the meeting for discourse were; National Support Programs, Peace Building/ Data Protection, Humanitarian and Emergency Response, Business and Development (Baseline Capacity), Security and safety, and State of the Nation  inorder to effectively reach the grassroots with humanitarian interventions and development programs.

Caritas Nigeria partners with the diocesan Caritas - JDPC - to carry out targeted humanitarian relief, good governance, and development programs in Catholic dioceses in Nigeria.
