As part of meeting her goal of achieving socio-economic reintegration for returnee migrants and potential migrants, Caritas Nigeria Anti-human Trafficking Team working under the Stable, Trained and Empowered Migrant (STEM) project empowered a total of 100 Internally Displaced Persons with start-up kits in Abuja on the 16th and 17th of August, 2022.

The exercise which took place in the Karimajiji and Apo resettlement IDP camps is the second phase of training carried out earlier in the year in Abuja where beneficiaries gained skills in bead making, soap and fragrance production, as well as bleach making. The goal of the intervention is to give the beneficiaries a functioning business that will improve their livelihoods and aid their socioeconomic integration in the host communities.

The STEM project aims at creating socio-economic upliftment for returnee migrants and potential migrants most especially Internally Displaced Persons. It is implemented in Edo State and Federal Capital Territory Abuja with funding by GIZ (German Agency for International Developmen or Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit)
