Through this Intervention Area, Caritas Nigeria strives to equip individuals, families and communities with modern farming techniques to boost their food security, as well as bring to them household sustainability measures that will enable them manage and grow their resources.
Components in the interventions in this thematic area include: agriculture, food security, livelihoods, income-generation, financial education, cash transfers and inputs distribution. Some projects also incorporate health and WASH.
Since inception, Caritas Nigeria has carried out two projects in this thematic area. The first is the Feed-the-Future Project (FTFP) and was implemented in the North-west axis of the country between 2013 and 2018 while the second one, Youth in Farming Business was implemented in South East axis Nigeria.
