Emergency Response and Humanitarian Services remains a core mandate of the Caritas brand globally. 

The Caritas Nigeria Emergency Response and Humanitarian Services (ERHS) intervention, is focused on bringing relief and succor to those most in need especially arising from conflicts, food insecurity, man-made and natural disasters.

The Portfolio has contributed immensely to the growth and maturation of Caritas Nigeria as a development organization in Nigeria.

Interventions are multipronged and cut across various components manned by different experts. They include: Agriculture; nutrition; Water and Sanitation; cash distribution; health; livelihoods and income-generation etc.

Since inception, Caritas Nigeria's Emergency and Humanitarian Response activities have covered the whole of the north-east and northwest, as well as parts of north-central and some states in the south-south axis of the country, comprising of a total of 17 states and the FCT.
