The 16 days of activism to commemorate the International Day for Gender Based Violence against women and girls ended successfully on Thursday 10th December 2020 with a holy mass celebration at St. Gabriel’s Chaplaincy of Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria Abuja.
In a brief pep talk that followed, Caritas Nigeria Gender Focal person, Mr Charles Aneni sensitized members of the worshiping community on gender-based violence and emphasized the need for victims to always speak up so as to avoid future occurrences. He called on the government at all levels to establish a quick response unit to address cases of gender based violence in the society.
