Migrant Returnee Regains her life back Featured

The story of Florence Abu, an indigene of Etsako West LGA of Edo State is one that gives hope to a lot of young girls out there.

Ending up as a migrant returnee who suffered sexual exploitation at the hands of human traffickers, a friend of hers, worried about her situation referred her to Caritas Nigeria’s Stable Trained and Empowered Me (STEM) Project in Benin, where she was assessed, trained and a hairdressing salon business set up for her. Today she earns about N3,000 daily from her hairdressing salon. 
STEM Project is one of GIZ’s reintegration packages for migrant returnees in Nigeria.
