60-year-old Hadiza Hassan, a widow and mother of two, once lived in Madagali, Adamawa State. She fended for her family from her soap making and tailoring businesses until insurgency struck Madagali.

Regrettably, she fled her abode and lost a core part of her sewing machine in transit.
In her new settlement, Hadiza continued her soap-making business with the business start-up grant she received from Caritas Nigeria. Gradually, she went back to making fabrics and joined a SILC group, which strengthened her savings and afforded her an opportunity to boost her soap making and tailoring businesses.

Hadiza expressed her gratitude for the intervention saying, “It is indeed a turning point for me after I received help from Caritas Nigeria. I was able to continue my soap making business, and now, things are far better than they were in the past year.”
