Even though Benson never had enough to cater for himself, he had to sum up monies from his savings and other earnings and embarked to Libya in 2017, hoping to reach Europe by land in search of greener pastures.
On arrival in Libya, life became more difficult for Benson because he lacked access to basic things such as medical care, owing totally to the fact that he was a migrant.
After one year of hardship in Libya, and futile efforts of getting to Europe, he returned to Nigeria with the assistance of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). His good friend introduced him to Caritas Nigeria and was enrolled in the GIZ-funded intervention and trained in Pisciculture. Benson was set up with 200 juveniles fish, Fish.
