In another exciting Children’s Day celebration organized by Caritas Nigeria, our team in Adamawa State, through the support of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency-funded Child Protection project, gathered children at the @caritasnigeria child-friendly space to mark this year’s event under the Theme: “Enhancing the Total Wellbeing of Children through Quality Education and Skills Development”.
Caritas Nigeria, Abia State Ministry of Health Collaborate on Effective Tuberculosis Screening Program in Umunneochi LGA

In a bid to combat tuberculosis among adults and children, Caritas Nigeria, in collaboration with the Abia State Ministry of Health through the support of Ihv Nigeria, has initiated a life-saving program called the “Tuberculosis Testing Week”. The event occurred at the Lokpa Cattle Market in Lukwesi, within the Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.
Enhancing Child Nutrition and Well-being through Soya Plus Production
Recently, in Orlu local government area of Imo State, where we implement the OVC program under the Accelerated Control of HIV Epidemic and Sustainability Solutions (ACCESS) Project in partnership with the Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) of Orlu Diocese, over 30 OVC caregivers and case managers were trained in soya plus production - a highly nutritious supplement that prevents malnutrition in children and aids their overall well-being.
Fostering a Culture of Continuous Improvement
Following the successful conclusion of the 2024 Staff Retreat of the Agencies of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), on January 10, 2024, Caritas Nigeria staff working in the Administrative Services Unit met in our headquarters to discuss strategies for enhancing the department's operations. CSN Year-End Closure: A Joyful Thanksgiving Mass Kicks Off Christmas Festivities
Ahead of Christmas festivities, on the 15th of December 2023, the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) closed officially for the year. The end-of-year activities, which reflected the spirit of the season, commenced with a Thanksgiving Mass presided over by Fr. Under the Building Sustainable Livelihoods for Vibrant Communities (B-SLiC) over 400 beneficiaries in Epe, Lagos State received their certificates and start-up kits after sufficient training in various vocational skills such as Catering, Electrical Works, Phone Repair, Hairdressing, Barbing, Tailoring, Auto-mechanical Repair, Carpentry, and Plumbing.

16 Days of Activism: Teenage Engagement in Fighting Gender-Based Violence
As part of the ongoing activities for the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence (GBV), our staff working on the Child Protection (Refugee Response) Project funded by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, in partnership with the Borno Women Development Initiative Maiduguri and IOM Nigeria held a public awareness and sensitization rally against all forms of Gender Based Violence in Mubi and Michika local government areas of Adamawa State.
