Our Core Values

SACREDNESS AND DIGNITY OF HUMAN PERSON

Our dignity and sacredness stems from the very fact of being human. Each persons is therefore special and unique

RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

All persons have basic rights and responsibilities that flow from being human, regardless of any social or political structures.

SOCIAL NATURE OF HUMANITY

All of us are social by nature and are called to live in community with others; our full human potential is not realized in solitude, but in community with others

THE COMMON GOOD

In order for all of us to have an opportunity to grow and develop fully, a certain social fabric must exist within society. This is the common good

SUBSIDIARITY

A higher level of government — or organization — should not perform any function or duty that can be handled more effectively at a lower level

SOLIDARITY

We are all part of one human family. What concerns any religion or country should concern us

OPTION FOR THE  POOR

In every decision, a weighted concern must be given to the needs of the poorest and most vulnerable

STEWARDSHIP

Careful stewardship of all our resources, ensuring that we use and distribute them justly and equitably and planning for future

GENDER CONCIOUSNESS

Conscious of the needs of women, men and children in service delivery and working purposely towards gender equality

Every catholic institution adopts these Core values of Catholic social teachings including CCFN. As CCFN we need to make these core values operational and unique to all of us
