North-Central Partners’ Forum

The SUSTAIN Project Partners’ Forum organized by Caritas Nigeria for her Partner Testing Facilities (PTFs) across the North-Central region has come to a successful close. The event which commenced from 23rd through 24th August, had in attendance, two representatives from each of the twenty-six (26) PTFs across the FCT, Kaduna, Kogi, Nasarawa and Plateau States.

Facility partners’ presentations which highlighted their background on the program, success stories and achievements on specific indicators as at Quarter 3 of the Financial Year 2017, aptly captured the laudable impact of the PEPFAR-funded project on over sixteen thousand (16,000) patients receiving HIV/TB interventions in the region; Statistics revealed a commendable level of Viral Load suppression among patients on Anti-Retroviral Therapy, negative outcome of Early Infant Diagnosis (EID) for infants that benefitted from Prevention of Mother To Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT) interventions, and the use of intensified Provider-Initiated Testing and Counselling (PITC) with multipoint testing and feeder sites. In addition, both partners – Caritas Nigeria and Facility Partners – shared lessons learnt in the project life cycle.

Caritas Nigeria began the implementation of Sustainable HIV/AIDS care and Treatment Action in Nigeria (SUSTAIN) project across the North-Central, South-Central and Benue regions in September 2012.
